October 2002 Parent's Information Sheet

“There is no such thing as Right and Wrong. There is only What Works and What Does Not Work, depending upon what it is you seek to be, do or have.”

This emphatic statement is from Neale Donald Walsch’s new book  ‘The New Revelations – a conversation with God’. This prolific New Age author has a rapidly growing following. One of his previous books, the best selling ‘Conversations with God – for teens’, spent months in the New York Times bestseller list. His ideals and beliefs are having a powerful influence amongst the young people of America, and this should be a major concern to Christian parents especially.

Although the titles sound very appealing, the fact is he is not a Christian and none of his work is remotely Bible based. In the ‘Conversations with God’ series, he purports to answer young peoples questions – about life, sexuality, politics, religion etc. by using the ‘voice of God’. The ‘answers’ are about as ungodly as you can get! Clearly New Age in ethic, they are misleading, distorted, and in our opinion and of others, (including Dr James Dobson) harmful!

Why do we bring this to your attention now? The simple fact is Neale D Walsch’s influence is spreading alarmingly. Young people looking for answers to life’s questions are being strongly drawn to his teachings. As concerned Parents, teachers and Pastors we all need to be aware of this and prepared to stand up for the Truth. We are called to lovingly and gracefully lead the way to The answer – Jesus.

Feel free to pass on this email to anyone you believe might need to read it. Should you have any questions or comments - do not hesitate to contact us. We encourage you to please pray against the spirit of confusion, and that blind eyes will be opened to see the Truth. Thank you.

Every blessing to you.

Yours in His service.
